Day 3 (2-7-09)

Day 3 (2-7-09)
We get up leisurely and wheel the bikes out of the hotel room and head into town to get breakfast. On the way in a group of teenage locals try to sell us their girlfriends, we graciously decline. Grab breakfast at the usual spot and run into Clay and Kyle who we met the night before on the bikes, we also meet another older adventure rider who is heading to the same place as us that day. Gas up and head down the Mexi 5 along the coast. The road has super gnarly dips and at 70mph they lift your wheels off the ground and bottom out the suspention, its pretty fun. We hit dirt about 50 miles in and I notice my front tire pressure is extremely low and its bottoming out into the rim constantly on all the huge rocks in the road. I am very worried I am going to get a flat or bend my wheel but we charge on. The road gets better and there are some fun side trails that are part of the Baja 500 Track. The views are amazing throughout.

About 5 miles from our destination of Gazonga Bay Jeff goes down a sandy hill and lays the bike over. When he trys to start it the kick starter is seized and it wont budge. This is not good. Shane tries to tow his with a rope to town but it does not work out very well and for sure would of ended in a crash. Out of nowhere a white pre-runner toyota tundra shows up with the only white person we have seen the whole day. We put Jeff's bike laying down sideways in the back and she drives us to the hotel. Truely a life saver.

We see the same adventure riders from breakfast at the hotel who happen to be master mechanics as well and they start tearing into the motor to find the problem. The hotel is right on the water and is amazing. Grab some dinner while they look at the bike but cant come to any conclusion, we will have to leave it for the next day to figure it out.
